NEW AMENITY LINE AT ANDAZ HOTELS IN NEW YORK IS A BREATH OF ‘FRESH AIR’
Andaz Wall Street and Andaz 5th Avenue To Debut Beekman 1802’s First-Ever Amenity Line
New York (February 4, 2014) – Beginning this February, Andaz Wall Street and Andaz 5th Avenue, in partnership with upstate New York’s famed Beekman1802 farm, will introduce a new in-room amenity line featuring a custom ‘Fresh Air’ fragrance. This is the first amenity line of its kind for Beekman 1802, a Sharon Springs, New York-based company, which has risen to international acclaim and recognition for its natural and locally sourced products. The boutique-inspired hotels have been working closely with Beekman 1802 over the past several months to introduce the ‘Fresh Air’ scented line, which will include a shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, as well as a facial bar and body bar.
The new amenity line made exclusively for Andaz Hotels in New York will prominently feature Beekman 1802’s logo, as well as its tagline, “Made Fresh in Upstate New York.” The full line, which will be available in all rooms and suites, was designed to reflect Andaz’s modern, yet understated take on luxury. It includes four elegantly appointed bottles for the liquid products, as well as two goat milk bath bars dressed in a classic white wrapping.
“The new amenity line represents our ongoing commitment to feature all things that are quintessential New York in our hotels,” said Megan Montenaro, Director of Communications for Andaz New York. “More than just a New York brand, we were particularly drawn to Beekman 1802 because our companies share many of the same values, one of which is to offer our guests the highest quality products that are not only natural, but also locally sourced. This concept rests at the core of who we are, and we’re happy to have found a kindred partner for this initiative.”
Known as “the little farm that could,” Beekman 1802 was founded in 2007 and is owned and operated by Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge, businessmen turned “accidental goat farmers” who in 2012 won the CBS hit reality show, The Amazing Race. Originally heralded for its goat milk soaps and cheeses, the Beekman 1802 brand has grown to include a full line of soaps and skin care products, clothing, gardening items, home wares, and even The Beekman 1802 Heirloom cookbook. The soap and skin care line in particular boasts only natural ingredients, which means no use of parabens, banned phthalates, petroleum, paraffin, diethanolamine or mineral oil. All products are cruelty-free and made with purified water. Product packaging, including that of the new amenity line at Andaz Hotels in New York, is 100% recycled material.
“The new amenity line at Andaz 5th Avenue and Andaz Wall Street was a natural extension for our brand, given the hotel’s genuine commitment to sourcing ingredients and products from area farms and artisans,” said Ridge. “We are excited about this partnership and look forward to many more collaborations, including the upcoming launch of the consumer version of the ‘Fresh Air’ line, available exclusively at each property and online.”
Beginning this spring, consumers will have the opportunity to purchase the full-sized version of Andaz’s ‘Fresh Air’ line at both hotels as well as www.beekman1802.com.
